I had never seen this line of Seikos previously until today. This particular model, the EL-3702-7010, has an electric sweep. It uses the 370 movement, one of the five electric movements that Seiko produced. The EL-370 is apparently the most common of the Seiko electric watches.
I noticed that the case back shows 3072-7020. So it does not appear as though all the parts are original. In my opinion that’s somewhat of a turn-off if it does not have original parts. I know that’s a lot to ask for when looking at vintage watches, but it’d help if the parts matched at least. I’m not sure my personality would have liked knowing that after winning such an auction. My guess is that the dial was refinished as well because it looks too pristine.
I was going to bid on this one but it quickly went beyond my range. When I found this, it was about $50. Forty-five minutes before the end time, it was about $85. Then it jumped from $121 to $141 in the last three minutes. I was reluctant to bid in the first place because I was not in love with it, but it seems like such an interesting collectors piece.
