I still don’t have a SKX007
I know that I’m selling most of my watches, but I still look for watches to buy. Does it make sense? Probably not, but neither does most of the things I do. I’ve always wanted a SKX007 diver but end up with other watches first.
Why do I want one when I already have a Spork? I think this one is more subtle. It is also more versatile in my opinion. It looks good on rubber straps, bracelets, and nato straps. I can’t say the same about the SRP043K.
So why the SKX007J vs the SKX007K? I think I like it because it is more rare. Other than that and the fact that is made in Japan, there isn’t much difference. Here are the biggest differences that I’ve found:
- The Japanese domestic J has “21 Jewels” on under “DIVER’S 200m”
- The K has 7S26-002R R 2 at the bottom of the dial while the J has MADE IN JAPAN in addition to the movement #.
So it’s mainly cosmetic and the American domestic K is $20-30 cheaper at any given time. Why spend the extra money? Will anyone ever notice which one I have? I doubt anyone would even know anything about it. I still want the J.
